A native Texan, founder and senior partner, Travis Ware, attended Texas Tech University, graduating with Bachelor of Arts degree and Doctor of Jurisprudence. Upon graduation, Travis entered law practice with former Senator John T. Montford, in Lubbock. When John. T. Montford was elected Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney, Travis began his career as a prosecutor, alongside Montford. Travis quickly established an unparalleled record as a felony trial attorney, soon rising to the position of Chief Felony Prosecutor. Travis Ware distinguished himself by successfully trying a huge number of felony jury trials.

In 1982 Travis Ware re-entered private practice, where he remained until 1986. It was then that Travis was elected, by a landslide, to the office of Lubbock Criminal District Attorney. Travis, with assistance from his staff, drastically reduced Lubbock County’s high crime rate. Travis accomplished this by successfully trying difficult, high profile cases. Travis firmly established Lubbock County District Attorney’s Office as one of the best in the entire State. Travis personally and successfully tried all categories of felonies, including many landmark cases. The work of Travis’s office was regularly reported in State and National publications. Coast to coast, hundreds of AP and UPI wire service newspapers often contained news articles about the achievements of Travis and his staff. Other publications, such as Vanity Fair, Texas Monthly, Esquire Magazine, and CBS 60 Minutes have published stories about Travis and his cases. Travis successfully prosecuted a 1955 child homicide case, which may be the oldest cold case in Texas or U.S. history. The case was so monumental that, in 1995, CBS made a feature film entitled “A Promise to Carolyn”(aired in 1996).

Travis Ware re-entered private practice in 1995, after serving eight years as the elected Lubbock County District Attorney. Travis has since continued to prove himself as a successful trial lawyer. Travis represents clients from all over West Texas the Texas Panhandle, New Mexico and other states as far away as California and New Jersey.

Travis Ware’s practice is primarily focused on litigation in family law/divorce (including custody and property disputes), serious car and truck accidents/wrongful death, defense of Federal and State felony and misdemeanors, funeral home and cemetery claims, commercial and business litigation, and medical negligence claims.

Travis Ware is well known and respected by clients and colleagues across the nation.
Not only are Travis’s record, experience and ability in the courtroom unparalleled, he is well known for his sensitivity, compassion and understanding for each of his clients.

Testimonials

I retained Mr. Ware and his office for an employment issue. He has been wonderful, thoroughly prepared and did an excellent job on my case. I am more than satisfied with his representation and heartily recommend him to anybody that needs representation. – MG

My ex boyfriend and I were blessed with a wonderful, healthy son. Unfortunately my ex boyfriend turned out to have anger problems which caused him to be verbally, emotionally and physically abusive. He was a cop in a small, neighboring town and the PD there finally forced him out.

I have no family in this area and felt very much alone. I hired Travis Ware and he accomplished everything we had requested. They won sole custody, a protective order that forbids access to me, child support and all the exclusive rights to make all decisions concerning child.

I recommend Travis Ware and his firm to anybody going through a divorce or custody case. – KA

Without reservation, I recommend Travis Ware to be on your side when going through a difficult divorce! – N.A.

When my husband suddenly decided to act like “dad of the year” and try to wrestle my young children away from me, I hired Travis Ware on my divorce and ensuing custody battle. Travis took my case very seriously and he overpowered my manipulative husband to the point where my husband finally agreed to a settlement with which I was most satisfied. Divorce is a stressful time, especially where children are concerned. I put my faith in Travis Ware and he came through for me. I recommend Travis Ware to anybody who is in need of a compassionate but very tough trial lawyer. – S.J.
